Frozen Royal Castle vs My Little Princess Castle: Which One Should My Child Play?

Disney Frozen Royal Castle vs My Little Princess Castle: prices, ads, languages, age labels and where each one is sold. Store facts checked 13 Oct 2026.

Choose Disney Frozen Royal Castle if your child wants Anna and Elsa and you're fine with a subscription for the extra content. Choose My Little Princess Castle if you'd rather pay once (the $3.99 App Store edition lists no in-app purchases) or need Russian. Royal Castle isn't sold in the Russian or Belarusian App Store.

Both are digital dollhouses: no levels or scores, only rooms, characters and props a child moves around to make up a story. This head-to-head uses store listings checked on 13 October 2026. We haven't play-tested either game.

The two castles side by side

My Town Games sells two separate castle apps with almost the same name, so the table has three columns.

Our fact pages for Royal Castle and My Little Princess Castle keep the iOS and Android details apart.

Arendelle or an invented kingdom

Royal Castle is the game for a child who asks for Elsa by name. The most recent release notes, the same on iOS and Android, add Elsa's Ice Palace with skating, snowmen and ice sculpting.

My Little Princess uses its own characters instead of film heroines, with small secrets such as tapping both unicorns at the castle gate. That suits a child who likes inventing a royal family more than replaying a movie. The cast includes a witch who brews potions, and the Google Play text mentions a "spooky secret in the basement". If your child scares easily, look at that room together first.

Paying: a subscription or a single purchase

Royal Castle is free to install. Its App Store purchase list shows three entries, all named "Monthly Subscription", at $9.99, and Google Play shows in-app items at $9.99 per item. Neither listing says which rooms or characters come free, so look inside the app yourself before you promise the Ice Palace.

With My Little Princess, the edition matters. The free Castle Game shows ads, sells characters and bundles, and lists My Town subscriptions. The paid My Little Princess : Castle lists no in-app purchases on the App Store, and its description says "No IAP".

On Google Play, though, the paid edition still shows an "In-app purchases" label with items at $0.99 per item. On Android, check the in-game shop before you hand the tablet over.

All three apps carry Apple's "Made for Ages 6–8" line, which means they are in the App Store's Kids category. Apple's rules for that category say purchases and links out of the app must be kept behind a parental gate, an adult-level task such as a math question. A gate helps, but purchase approval on your account does more. Our guide to stopping in-app purchases has the settings for iPhone and Android.

Ads: why the label differs by platform

Royal Castle shows no advertising notice on its App Store page, while Google Play labels it "Contains ads". Google asks developers to declare house ads that promote their own other apps, so the label can appear without any third-party advertising. The listings don't say which kind Royal Castle shows.

The free My Little Princess edition carries an ad label on both stores. The paid edition has none anywhere, and its description says "3rd Party Ads Free". For a step-by-step check of any app, see princess games without ads.

Russian language and where each game is sold

Apple's iTunes Lookup data on 13 October 2026 returned Royal Castle in the US, UK and Kazakhstan stores but not in Russia or Belarus. Both My Little Princess editions came back in all five countries. In the Russian App Store the free edition is titled "My Little Princess : My Castle", and the paid one costs 349 ₽. In Belarus the paid edition costs USD 4.99.

Russian appears in the App Store language list for both My Little Princess editions and is missing for Royal Castle. A language list is metadata: it doesn't prove that every menu or voice line is translated, and we haven't checked that on a device. Google Play listings don't show a language list, and we didn't check Google Play availability by country.

Age: the stores, the developers and our guidance

All three apps are rated 4+ and placed in Apple's 6–8 band, while the developers aim wider: 4 to 11 for Royal Castle, 3 to 12 for My Little Princess. Our guidance for both castles is 4–8, based on the dollhouse format rather than on a store label. For a 4- or 5-year-old, plan to sit together for the first few sessions; princess games for 4- and 5-year-olds has a routine for that first time.

Which one to pick

Checked on 13 October 2026 in the US App Store (store pages and iTunes Lookup), Apple's lookup data for the UK, Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan, and the US Google Play listings. Prices are in US dollars unless marked. Prices, ads, purchases and availability change by country, version and device, so check your own store before paying. Our princess game fact sheet puts these and other princess apps in one table.

FAQ

Is Frozen Royal Castle free?

It's free to download, but not everything is free to play. The US App Store lists a $9.99 monthly subscription, and the description says monthly or yearly plans may be offered. Neither store listing says which rooms or characters are included for free, so look inside the app before your child picks a favorite.

Why can't I find Frozen Royal Castle in the Russian App Store?

Because it isn't sold there. Apple's iTunes Lookup data on 13 October 2026 returned Disney Frozen Royal Castle for the US, UK and Kazakhstan stores, but not for Russia or Belarus. My Little Princess Castle is available in both countries, in a free and a paid edition, and lists Russian among its languages.

What's the difference between My Little Princess Castle Game and My Little Princess : Castle?

They are separate apps from My Town Games with the same 12-room castle. The Castle Game is free, with ads, character packs and My Town subscriptions. My Little Princess : Castle costs $3.99 on the App Store, lists no in-app purchases there and shows no ad label. On Google Play it costs $4.49.

Does Frozen Royal Castle have ads?

It depends on the store. The US App Store page shows no advertising notice for Royal Castle, while the Google Play listing is labeled "Contains ads". Google's ad declaration also covers house ads that promote a developer's other apps, so the label alone doesn't tell you whether your child will see third-party advertising.

What age is Frozen Royal Castle for?

The App Store rates it 4+ and places it in Apple's Kids category for ages 6–8. Budge Studios describes it as easy to play for children aged 4 to 11. Our editorial guidance is 4–8, based on the dollhouse format. With a 4- or 5-year-old, plan to sit together for the first few sessions.
