Which Frozen games for kids are official Disney apps?

Which Frozen games for kids are official Disney apps in 2026, what each costs, which show ads and how to spot lookalikes. Checked in both stores Oct 13.

On 13 October 2026, the US App Store and Google Play listed three official kids' apps with Frozen characters, each with a Disney copyright notice: Disney Frozen Royal Castle (Budge Studios), Disney Frozen Free Fall Game (Jam City) and Disney Coloring World (StoryToys), which also has an Apple Arcade edition. Jam City's Frozen Adventures is no longer in either store.

This page is for parents whose child asks for "the Elsa game" while the store shows a screen of lookalike icons. We checked the US App Store (iTunes Lookup API and product pages) and the US Google Play listings on 13 October 2026. Prices, ads and availability change by country and version, so treat the table as a dated snapshot. We did not install or play the apps.

Two details are easy to miss. The seller is never Disney itself: each app is sold by the studio that makes it, and Disney appears in the copyright notice instead ("© 2014 Disney" on the Free Fall App Store page). Ad labels also differ by platform: Google Play marks the Android version of Royal Castle "Contains ads", while its US App Store page shows no advertising label.

Which one fits your child

The three apps share characters but play very differently, so start from what your child likes to do.

Royal Castle is a digital dollhouse. Budge Studios describes the Great Hall, the Kitchen and the Fragrance Suite, outfits for Anna, Elsa, Kristoff and other dolls, and recipes to mix in the kitchen. The developer says it suits "children aged 4-11", while the App Store's "Made for Ages" band reads 6–8. Before paying, check which rooms and characters are open in the free version.

Free Fall is a match-3 puzzle with "1,000+" levels and character power-ups, such as Elsa's glacier. Google Play notes that its in-game purchases include random items, so talk about boosters before your child reaches the first hard level.

Coloring World covers far more than Frozen: StoryToys lists "Over 2,000 coloring pages" across Disney, Pixar, Star Wars and Marvel, plus Arendelle Castle to decorate. Free sample pages come first, and the rest needs a subscription. Our Coloring World price guide has the full list.

Our editorial age guide is based on format, not on a store rating: roughly 4–8 for the castle, 4–10 for the coloring app and 8–12 for Free Fall's goal-based levels.

What happened to Disney Frozen Adventures

Jam City's website still lists Frozen Adventures and has a game page marked © 2019. Its store links are dead. On 13 October 2026, the iTunes Lookup API returned no result for its App Store ID (1461277361) in the US, UK or Canada, and both the App Store page and the Google Play page returned "not found". We found no statement on whether an older installed copy still works. Free Fall is the Jam City Frozen game that is still listed.

How to spot an unofficial Frozen lookalike

Searches for "frozen games", "elsa games" and similar terms in the US App Store on 13 October 2026 returned dozens of apps from other developers. Some were ice-cream makers and winter survival games that just borrow the word. Others were dress-up and salon games with "Ice Princess", "Ice Queen", "Snow Queen" or "Elsa" in the title, several last updated between 2014 and 2017. Five quick checks:

  1. Read the developer line, not the icon. In October 2026 the official Frozen apps came from Budge Studios, Jam City and StoryToys. Don't expect Disney as the seller: Disney's own App Store account, Disney Electronic Content, Inc., sells a Frozen 2 sticker pack for iMessage ($1.99), not a game.
  2. Find the copyright notice. On the App Store, scroll to Information, then Copyright, or read the end of the description. Official apps name Disney: "© 2024 Disney" closes the Royal Castle description, and Coloring World says "Copyright 2018-2026 © Disney".
  3. Check the title. All three official titles begin with "Disney". A princess salon game with a blue-dress icon is a different product.
  4. Look at the last update. The official apps were updated between July and October 2026. A listing untouched for years suggests nobody maintains it.
  5. Read the labels before you tap "Get". "Contains ads", "In-app purchases" and the age band sit on the same page. Our guide to reading a kids' app listing explains each one.

A Disney notice is good evidence, not a guarantee. If something still looks off, open the developer's website from the listing and look for the game there.

Other apps where Elsa turns up

Elsa also appears in Disney games that aren't Frozen games. Disney Solitaire by SuperPlay names her in its description and is rated 12+ in the US App Store, with "Frequent/Intense Contests" and "Loot Boxes" advisories. Disney Getaway Blast+ by Gameloft, an Apple Arcade game rated 4+, lists "Elsa's frozen magic" among its abilities. Neither is a Frozen game, so check the rating before handing it to a younger child.

Outside the US: Russia and Belarus

Availability differs by country. In the Russian App Store, Free Fall is listed as «Холодное Сердце. Звездопад», and on 13 October 2026 it was the only one of these apps found there. Royal Castle, Coloring World and Coloring World+ did not appear. The Belarus store also showed only Free Fall, while Kazakhstan, the UK, Canada and Australia listed all four. We did not check Google Play availability in Russia.

For parents: before the first download, set up purchase approvals on iPhone and Android and keep the refund steps handy. Our princess games fact sheet compares more apps.

Checked on 13 October 2026 in the US App Store (iTunes Lookup API and product pages) and US Google Play listings. Country availability comes from iTunes Lookup for Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, the UK, Canada and Australia. Prices are the US in-app purchase lists on those pages and can change without notice. We did not install or play the apps.

FAQ

Is Disney Frozen Royal Castle free?

The download is free. Budge Studios says the app "may offer monthly or yearly subscriptions", and on 13 October 2026 the US App Store listed a Monthly Subscription at $9.99, while Google Play showed $9.99 per item. Google Play also labels the Android version "Contains ads". Check which rooms and characters are open before subscribing.

Does Frozen Free Fall have ads and in-app purchases?

Yes, on both platforms. The US App Store page shows "Contains Advertising" and lists packs of snowballs, ice picks, power-ups and lives from $0.99 to $9.99. Google Play labels it "Contains ads" and says its in-game purchases include random items. The download itself is free, with more than 1,000 levels.

Can my child still download Disney Frozen Adventures?

Not from the official stores, as far as we could find. On 13 October 2026, its App Store ID returned no result in the US, UK and Canada, and its Google Play page showed "not found". Jam City's website still has an old page for it. Frozen Free Fall is the Jam City Frozen game still listed.

How can I tell if an Elsa app is official?

Look at three things on the store page: the developer, the copyright notice and the title. In October 2026 the official Frozen apps came from Budge Studios, Jam City and StoryToys, carried a Disney copyright notice, and had titles starting with "Disney". Elsa on the icon proves nothing by itself.

Which Frozen apps work in Russia?

In the Russian App Store, only Free Fall was available on 13 October 2026, listed as «Холодное Сердце. Звездопад». Disney Frozen Royal Castle and Disney Coloring World did not appear there or in the Belarus store. We did not check Google Play in Russia, so look at the store on your own device.
