Is Disney Coloring World free?

Disney Coloring World is free to download, but full access needs a subscription. US prices, free trial, canceling and Apple Arcade, checked 13 Oct 2026.

Partly. Disney Coloring World is free to download and comes with free sample content, but full access needs a monthly or yearly subscription. On 13 October 2026, the US App Store listed subscription prices from $5.99 to $49.99. An edition without ads or in-app purchases, Disney Coloring World+, is included in Apple Arcade.

This page covers what Disney Coloring World costs: what's free, what the subscription costs and how to cancel it. The app is made by StoryToys and carries a Disney copyright notice on both store listings. We checked the US App Store page, the iTunes Lookup API, the US Google Play listing and Apple and Google support pages on 13 October 2026. Prices change by country and over time, and we did not buy a subscription, so the purchase screen on your device has the final word.

What's free and what needs a subscription

StoryToys' subscription terms are clear: the app "contains sample content that is free to play", and a monthly or yearly subscription opens everything else while it stays active. The developer lists, in both stores:

  • "Over 2,000 coloring pages" with Disney, Pixar, Star Wars and Marvel characters, including Frozen and the Disney Princesses;
  • brushes, crayons, glitter, patterns, stamps and a Magic Color tool;
  • dress-up, decorating places such as Arendelle Castle, and 3D playsets;
  • "No third-party advertising" and "No in-app purchases for subscribers".

Without a subscription, your child gets the sample content only. Neither store page says how many pages are free, and we didn't count them.

How much the subscription costs

The US App Store page lists ten in-app purchase entries for this app. Their names differ, but they fall into these groups:

Billing period in the item nameNumber of entriesUS price
Monthly4$6.99
Monthly1$5.99
Annual or yearly2$49.99
Yearly1$44.99
Annual1$39.99
No period in the name1$6.99

Google Play's US listing doesn't break out plans. Its listing data gives a single range, $0.99 to $59.99 per item, without saying which item costs what.

Why price trackers show $5.99 or $6.99

Third-party trackers in search results on 13 October 2026 quoted either $5.99 or $6.99 a month, and anything from $39.99 to $49.99 a year. Both camps can point to the store. The App Store list contains all of these prices under different item names, such as "Disney Monthly Subscription" ($6.99) and "Disney Coloring World Monthly" ($5.99). A tracker that picks up one entry shows one number.

The listing doesn't say which plan the app offers a new subscriber today. Prices also differ by country and can change between versions. The amount on the Apple or Google purchase sheet, right before you confirm, is the one that counts.

Free trial and auto-renewal

The developer's terms mention a free trial: buying a subscription means you "forfeit any unused portion of a free trial period". They don't give the trial's length or say that every account gets one.

Renewal is automatic. StoryToys' App Store terms say the subscription renews at the plan's price unless you cancel it 24 hours before the current period ends. Apple's advice for trials is similar: cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends if you don't want to pay. Put a reminder in your calendar the day you start.

How to cancel

iPhone or iPad (Apple's steps):

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap your name.
  3. Tap Subscriptions.
  4. Tap the subscription.
  5. Tap Cancel Subscription. You might need to scroll down.

If there's no Cancel button, or you see an expiration message in red, it's already canceled. Apple also says you can't cancel a family member's subscription. If your child subscribed with their own Apple Account, cancel while signed in to that account.

Android (Google's steps):

  1. Open your subscriptions in Google Play.
  2. Select the subscription.
  3. Tap Cancel subscription and follow the instructions.

Uninstalling the app doesn't cancel it. After canceling, you keep access for the time already paid.

Canceling stops future charges but doesn't refund past ones. For that, see what to do if your child bought something by accident.

Apple Arcade and Google Play Pass

There is a second way in. Disney Coloring World+ is StoryToys' Apple Arcade edition, with the same description and the same version number (18.9.0). Its App Store page says "No ads. No in-app purchases." Apple prices Arcade at $6.99 a month or $49.99 a year in the US, shared with up to five family members. If your family already pays for Arcade, download the Arcade edition rather than starting the app's own subscription.

On Android, the Google Play listing says the app is available with a Google Play Pass subscription, "free of ads and in-app purchases". We didn't check the current Play Pass price.

Offline play depends on what's already downloaded, so open the sets your child wants while you're on Wi-Fi, then try airplane mode at home before a trip. Our editorial age guide for this app, based on its format rather than a store rating, is 4–10. For the other Frozen apps, see which Frozen games are official and our princess games fact sheet.

Availability outside the US

On 13 October 2026, the iTunes Lookup API returned no listing for Disney Coloring World or Coloring World+ in the Russian or Belarusian App Store. Kazakhstan, the UK, Canada and Australia returned both. Russian is also missing from the App Store language list. We did not check Google Play availability in those countries.

Checked on 13 October 2026 in the US App Store (product page, In-App Purchases list and iTunes Lookup API), the US Google Play listing, apple.com/apple-arcade, and Apple and Google support pages. Country availability comes from iTunes Lookup. We did not buy a subscription or test the app.

FAQ

How much is Disney Coloring World per month?

It depends on which plan the app offers you. On 13 October 2026, the US App Store listed monthly entries at $5.99 and $6.99, and yearly entries at $39.99, $44.99 and $49.99. Prices vary by country and can change, so check the amount on the purchase screen before you confirm.

Does Disney Coloring World have a free trial?

The developer's terms mention a free trial period but don't give its length or say who qualifies. If you start one on an iPhone and don't want to pay, Apple says to cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. Paid plans renew automatically unless canceled 24 hours before the period ends.

Does Disney Coloring World work without Wi-Fi?

According to the developer's description in both stores, you can play pre-downloaded content offline. Download the pages and playsets your child wants while you're still connected, then try airplane mode at home before a trip. The App Store version takes about 2 GB, so check free storage first.

Is Disney Coloring World+ the same as the regular app?

It's StoryToys' Apple Arcade edition with the same description: over 2,000 coloring pages, dress-up and 3D playsets. Instead of the app's own subscription, it comes with Apple Arcade, which Apple prices at $6.99 a month or $49.99 a year in the US. Its App Store page says "No ads. No in-app purchases."

Can I get Disney Coloring World in Russia?

Not from the Russian App Store. On 13 October 2026, the iTunes Lookup API returned no listing for Disney Coloring World or Coloring World+ in Russia or Belarus, while Kazakhstan, the UK, Canada and Australia had both. The App Store language list doesn't include Russian. Google Play in Russia wasn't checked.
