Who is Snow White?
Snow White is the princess in Disney's animated film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Running from the wicked Queen, she finds the cottage of the seven dwarfs. A magic mirror and an apple are key details in her story.
How old is Snow White? Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937) never states her age.
Snow White finds a home and new friends in the forest. For play with toys, an everyday scene works well: setting a shared table or deciding who does what today. Pushkin's “Tale of the Dead Princess and the Seven Knights” has similar motifs, but Pushkin's princess and Snow White are different heroines. You can compare their stories once your child knows both.

Move your toys into a forest cottage
Our own activity ideas inspired by the story — for drawing, toys and telling stories aloud.
- Draw a cottage with seven different rooms. Give each resident a favorite thing to do: growing flowers, fixing clocks, reading or baking bread. How do they help each other?
- Hold a get-to-know-you day with your toys. Each one tells what it's good at, and the others suggest an adventure they could have together.
Talk about it together: How could seven friends share the chores so everyone still has time for what they love?

Questions about the heroine
Is Snow White the same as Pushkin's Dead Princess?
No. They are characters from different works. Their stories share some motifs, but in Pushkin's tale the princess lives with seven bogatyrs, or knights, and Prince Yelisei searches for her.
How old is Snow White?
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937) never states her age. The usual answer, 14, comes from the studio's working outline of October 1934, quoted by historian Jim Korkis: “Janet Gaynor type – 14 years old.” So the number has a real source, just not the film itself.
