Memory game

Memory match game for kids: magic cards

Turn over two cards at a time. If the pictures are the same, it’s a pair! Find all the pairs.

Turn over the first card.

The game trains attention and memory. Start a five-year-old on Easy; Hard suits kids aged 8 to 10.

How to play memory match

All the cards start face down. Turn over two per move. If the pictures match, the pair stays face up; if not, they flip back, and you have to remember where each one was. The game ends when every pair is found and shows how many moves it took.

The cards show the symbols of the site’s heroines: a sun, a moon, a shell, a snowflake, a heart and more. Easy has 4 pairs, Medium 6 and Hard 8.

Playing together

Take turns: whoever finds a pair goes again. It helps a child practice waiting for a turn and coping when a pair doesn’t turn up. Start a five-year-old on 4 pairs and move to 6 once it feels easy. For ages 8 to 10, try to beat your last move count on Hard.

Questions from parents

How many cards are on each level?

Easy has 8 cards (4 pairs), Medium has 12 (6 pairs) and Hard has 16 (8 pairs). The cards are shuffled into a new random layout every game, so the same level can be played many times. You can switch levels at any moment; the deal then starts again from the beginning.

Does memory match work offline?

The page has to load once; after that the game runs in the browser on its own, because flipping cards, checking pairs and counting moves need no connection to a server. Reloading the page offline won’t work, so before a trip open the game in advance and keep the tab open.
